How To Install libtext-ocaml-dev on Debian 9

In this tutorial we learn how to install libtext-ocaml-dev on Debian 9.
What is libtext-ocaml-dev
libtext-ocaml-dev is:
OCaml-Text is an OCaml library for dealing with “text”, i.e. sequences of Unicode characters, in a convenient way. It supports:
- encoding/decoding of text;
- functions for manipulation of UTF-8 encoded strings, such as validation and most of the functions from “List” and “String” modules of the OCaml standard library, adapted for UTF-8 strings;
- locale-specific text functions (compare, upper, is_alpha, …).
It is composed of two modules:
- “Encoding” for encoding/decoding text
- “Text” for text manipulation
This package contains all the development stuff you need to use the OCaml-Text library in your programs.
There are three methods to install libtext-ocaml-dev on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libtext-ocaml-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libtext-ocaml-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libtext-ocaml-dev
How To Uninstall libtext-ocaml-dev on Debian 9
To uninstall only the libtext-ocaml-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libtext-ocaml-dev

To uninstall libtext-ocaml-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
