How To Install libst-dev on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libst-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libst-dev
libst-dev is:
The State Threads library has an interface similar to POSIX threads.
However, the threads are actually all run in-process. This type of threading allows for controlled schedualing points. It is highly useful for designing robust and extremely scalable internet applications since there is no resource contention and locking is generally unnecessary.
It can be combined with traditional threading or multiple process parallelism to take advantage of multiple processors.
This package contains the development files for compiling programs.
There are three methods to install libst-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libst-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libst-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libst-devInstall libst-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libst-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libst-devInstall libst-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libst-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libst-devHow To Uninstall libst-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libst-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libst-devUninstall libst-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libst-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libst-devRemove libst-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libst-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libst-devRemove libst-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libst-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
