How To Install libssm-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libssm-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libssm-dev
libssm-dev is:
SSM is a macromolecular coordinate superposition library, written by Eugene Krissinel of the EBI.
The library implements the SSM algorithm of protein structure comparison in three dimensions, which includes an original procedure of matching graphs built on the protein’s secondary-structure elements, followed by an iterative three-dimensional alignment of protein backbone Calpha atoms.
This package contains libraries and header files needed for program development.
There are three methods to install libssm-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libssm-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libssm-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libssm-devInstall libssm-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libssm-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libssm-dev using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the libssm-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libssm-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libssm-devRemove libssm-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libssm-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
