How To Install libssl1.0-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libssl1.0-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libssl1.0-dev
libssl1.0-dev is:
This package is part of the OpenSSL project’s implementation of the SSL and TLS cryptographic protocols for secure communication over the Internet.
It contains development libraries, header files, and manpages for libssl and libcrypto.
This is a transition package that will go away after the stretch release to provide the 1.0.X APIs for those packages that are not ready for the 1.1 version yet.
There are three methods to install libssl1.0-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libssl1.0-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libssl1.0-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the libssl1.0-dev package we can use the following command:

To remove libssl1.0-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
