In this tutorial we learn how to install libss7 on CentOS 7.

What is libss7

libss7 is a userspace library that is used for providing SS7 protocol services to applications. It has a working MTP2, MTP3, and ISUP for ITU and ANSI style SS7, however it was written in a manner that will easily allow support for other various national specific variants in the future.

We can use yum or dnf to install libss7 on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libss7.

Install libss7 on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install libss7 using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install libss7

Install libss7 on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install libss7 using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install libss7

How To Uninstall libss7 on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the libss7 package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove libss7
