How To Install libsmc-dev on Kali Linux

What is libsmc-dev

libsmc-dev is:

The State Machine Compiler (SMC) from http://smc.sourceforge.net/ converts a language-independent description of a state machine into the source code to support that state machine.

This package contains the libraries that a compiled state machine depends on, but it does not contain the compiler itself.

There are three methods to install libsmc-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libsmc-dev Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libsmc-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install libsmc-dev using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libsmc-dev
