How To Install libsmbios-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libsmbios-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libsmbios-dev
libsmbios-dev is:
libsmbios aims towards providing access to as much BIOS information as possible. It does this by providing a library of functions that can be used as well as sample binaries.
It incorporates extensible access to SMBIOS information capabilities and ability to perform unit tests across multiple systems without using physical hardware. Moreover, centralized, data-driven exception handling for broken BIOS tables is provided.
To start out with, the focus is on the SMBIOS tables. Currently, full access to the SMBIOS table and its items is implemented. In the future, it will provide $PIR, MPTABLE, RCI, RBU, and other tables as well.
Additionally, access and manipulation of Dell Indexed IO Token (type 0xD4) is implemented. This token is a vendor-extention SMBIOS structure which allows uniform access to manipulate the system CMOS to enable, disable, or otherwise manipulate normal BIOS functions or features.
There are three methods to install libsmbios-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libsmbios-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libsmbios-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude -y install libsmbios-devHow To Uninstall libsmbios-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libsmbios-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libsmbios-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libsmbios-devRemove libsmbios-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libsmbios-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libsmbios-devRemove libsmbios-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
