How To Install libshp2 on Kali Linux

What is libshp2
libshp2 is:
The Shapefile format is a working and interchange format promoted by ESRI for simple vector data with attributes. It is apparently the only file format that can be edited in ARCView 2/3, and can also be exported and imported in ArcGis.
This package includes the shared library.
There are three methods to install libshp2
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libshp2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libshp2
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libshp2
Install libshp2 Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libshp2
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libshp2
Install libshp2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libshp2
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libshp2
How To Uninstall libshp2 on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libshp2
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libshp2
Uninstall libshp2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libshp2
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libshp2
Remove libshp2 Configurations and Data
To remove libshp2
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libshp2
Remove libshp2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
