How To Install libserf on Rocky Linux 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install libserf
on Rocky Linux 8.
What is libserf
The serf library is a C-based HTTP client library built upon the Apache Portable Runtime (APR) library. It multiplexes connections, running the read/write communication asynchronously. Memory copies and transformations are kept to a minimum to provide high performance operation.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install libserf
on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libserf.
Install libserf on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libserf
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libserf
Install libserf on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libserf
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libserf
How To Uninstall libserf on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the libserf
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libserf
