How To Install libsdl-ocaml on Debian 10

on Debian 10.
What is libsdl-ocaml
libsdl-ocaml is:
SDL (Simple DirectMedia Layer) is a generic API that provides low level access to audio, keyboard, mouse, and display framebuffer across multiple platforms. OCamlSDL is an OCaml interface to the SDL and might be used to write multimedia applications in Objective Caml.
This package contains runtime libraries needed for running dynamic bytecode executables.
There are three methods to install libsdl-ocaml
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libsdl-ocaml Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libsdl-ocaml
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libsdl-ocaml

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libsdl-ocaml
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libsdl-ocaml
Install libsdl-ocaml Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libsdl-ocaml
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libsdl-ocaml
How To Uninstall libsdl-ocaml on Debian 10
To uninstall only the libsdl-ocaml
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libsdl-ocaml
Uninstall libsdl-ocaml And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libsdl-ocaml
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libsdl-ocaml
Remove libsdl-ocaml Configurations and Data
To remove libsdl-ocaml
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libsdl-ocaml
Remove libsdl-ocaml configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libsdl-ocaml
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libsdl-ocaml
