What is libscram-java

libscram-java is:

SCRAM (Salted Challenge Response Authentication Mechanism) is part of the family of Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL, RFC 4422) authentication mechanisms. It is described as part of RFC 5802 and RFC 7677.

This project aims to provide a complete clean-room implementation of SCRAM. It is written in Java and provided in a modular, re-usable way, independent of other software or programs.

There are three methods to install libscram-java on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libscram-java Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libscram-java using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libscram-java

After updating apt database, We can install libscram-java using apt by running the following command:

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libscram-java using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the libscram-java package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libscram-java

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libscram-java

To remove libscram-java configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libscram-java
