What is libsass

Libsass is a C/C++ port of the Sass CSS precompiler. The original version was written in Ruby, but this version is meant for efficiency and portability. This library strives to be light, simple, and easy to build and integrate with a variety of platforms and languages. Libsass is just a library, but if you want to RUN libsass, install the sassc package.

We can use yum or dnf to install libsass on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libsass.

Install libsass on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install libsass using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install libsass

Install libsass on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install libsass using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install libsass

How To Uninstall libsass on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the libsass package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove libsass
