How To Install librsb-dev on Ubuntu 18.04

What is librsb-dev
librsb-dev is:
This is a library for sparse matrix computations featuring the Recursive Sparse Blocks (RSB) matrix format. This format allows cache efficient and multi-threaded (that is, shared memory parallel) operations on large sparse matrices. It provides the most common operations necessary to iterative solvers, like matrix-vector multiplication, triangular solution, rows/columns scaling, diagonal extraction / setting, blocks extraction, norm computation, formats conversion. The RSB format is especially well suited for symmetric and transposed multiplication variants.
This package contains the static libraries for development with librsb, including examples and the rsbench utility.
There are three methods to install librsb-dev on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install librsb-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install librsb-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install librsb-dev
Install librsb-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install librsb-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install librsb-dev
Install librsb-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install librsb-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install librsb-dev
How To Uninstall librsb-dev on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the librsb-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove librsb-dev
Uninstall librsb-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall librsb-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove librsb-dev
Remove librsb-dev Configurations and Data
To remove librsb-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge librsb-dev
Remove librsb-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove librsb-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge librsb-dev
