What is librpmem-debug

The librpmem library provides low-level support for remote access to persistent memory utilizing RDMA-capable NICs. It can be used to replicate persistent memory regions over RDMA protocol. This sub-package contains debug variant of the library, providing run-time assertions and trace points. The typical way to access the debug version is to set the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH to /usr/lib64/pmdk_debug.

We can use yum or dnf to install librpmem-debug on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install librpmem-debug.

Install librpmem-debug on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install librpmem-debug using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install librpmem-debug

Install librpmem-debug on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install librpmem-debug using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install librpmem-debug

How To Uninstall librpmem-debug on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the librpmem-debug package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove librpmem-debug
