How To Install librocksdb-dev on Ubuntu 18.04

What is librocksdb-dev
librocksdb-dev is:
C++ library providing an embedded key-value store, where keys and values are arbitrary byte streams. It was developed at Facebook based on LevelDB and provides backwards-compatible support for LevelDB APIs.
RocksDB is optimized for Flash with extremely low latencies. RocksDB uses a Log Structured Database Engine for storage, written entirely in C++.
RocksDB features highly flexible configuration settings that may be tuned to run on a variety of production environments, including pure memory, Flash, hard disks or HDFS. It supports various compression algorithms and good tools for production support and debugging.

This package contains libraries and header files for developing applications that use librocksdb .
There are three methods to install librocksdb-dev on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install librocksdb-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install librocksdb-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install librocksdb-dev using apt by running the following command:

Install librocksdb-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install librocksdb-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install librocksdb-dev
How To Uninstall librocksdb-dev on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the librocksdb-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove librocksdb-dev
Uninstall librocksdb-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall librocksdb-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove librocksdb-dev
Remove librocksdb-dev Configurations and Data
To remove librocksdb-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge librocksdb-dev
Remove librocksdb-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove librocksdb-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge librocksdb-dev
