How To Install libreoffice-voikko on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libreoffice-voikko on Kali Linux.
What is libreoffice-voikko
libreoffice-voikko is:
LibreOffice is a full-featured office productivity suite that provides a near drop-in replacement for Microsoft(R) Office.
This package contains a libreoffice-voikko, a multi language spellchecker, grammar checker and hyphenator extension for LibreOffice. It uses libvoikko for all linguistic operations.
Based on the configuration of libvoikko, spell checking is supported for multiple languages. Other features are currently available only for Finnish.
NOTE: Usually spell-checking, grammar checking and hyphenation should be automatically activated after installing this package. If this is not the case, go to “Writing Aids” settings in LibreOffice and activate Voikko components manually.
There are three methods to install libreoffice-voikko on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libreoffice-voikko Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libreoffice-voikko using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libreoffice-voikkoInstall libreoffice-voikko Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libreoffice-voikko using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libreoffice-voikkoInstall libreoffice-voikko Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libreoffice-voikko using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libreoffice-voikkoHow To Uninstall libreoffice-voikko on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libreoffice-voikko package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libreoffice-voikkoUninstall libreoffice-voikko And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libreoffice-voikko and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libreoffice-voikkoRemove libreoffice-voikko Configurations and Data
To remove libreoffice-voikko configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libreoffice-voikkoRemove libreoffice-voikko configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libreoffice-voikko configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
