How To Install libreadosm-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libreadosm-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libreadosm-dev
libreadosm-dev is:
ReadOSM is an open source library to extract valid data from within an OpenStreetMap input file. Such OSM files come in two different formats, .osm (XML) and .pbf.
Some of the design goals of ReadOSM are:
- to be simple and lightweight
- to be stable, robust and efficient
- to be easily and universally portable
- making the whole parsing process of both .osm or .osm.pbf files completely transparent from the application own perspective.
This package contains files needed for development.
There are three methods to install libreadosm-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libreadosm-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libreadosm-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libreadosm-devInstall libreadosm-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libreadosm-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libreadosm-devInstall libreadosm-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libreadosm-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libreadosm-devHow To Uninstall libreadosm-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libreadosm-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libreadosm-devUninstall libreadosm-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libreadosm-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libreadosm-devRemove libreadosm-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libreadosm-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libreadosm-devRemove libreadosm-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libreadosm-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
