How To Install libre2-dev on Ubuntu 18.04

What is libre2-dev
libre2-dev is:
RE2 is a fast, safe, thread-friendly alternative to backtracking regular expression engines like those used in PCRE, Perl, and Python. It is a C++ library.
RE2 uses automata theory to guarantee that regular expression searches run in time linear in the size of the input. RE2 implements memory limits, so that searches can be constrained to a fixed amount of memory. RE2 is engineered to use a small fixed C++ stack footprint no matter what inputs or regular expressions it must process; thus RE2 is useful in multithreaded environments where thread stacks cannot grow arbitrarily large.
On large inputs, RE2 is often much faster than backtracking engines; its use of automata theory lets it apply optimizations that the others cannot.
This package contains the static library and header files used in development.
There are three methods to install libre2-dev on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

sudo aptitude -y install libre2-dev

To uninstall only the libre2-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libre2-dev

To uninstall libre2-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libre2-dev
Remove libre2-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libre2-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libre2-dev

We can use the following command to remove libre2-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
