How To Install librcd0 on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install librcd0 on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is librcd0
librcd0 is:
LibRCD is used by RusXMMS project for encoding auto-detection. It is optimized to handle very short titles, like ID3 tags, file names and etc, and provides very high accuracy even for short 3-4 letter words. Current version supports Russian and Ukrainian languages and able to distinguish UTF-8, KOI8-R, CP1251, CP866, ISO8859-1. If compared with Enca, LibRCC provides better detection accuracy on short titles and is able to detect ISO8859-1 (non-cyrillic) encoding what allows one to properly display correct ID3 v.1 titles.
There are three methods to install librcd0 on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install librcd0 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install librcd0 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install librcd0
Install librcd0 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install librcd0 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install librcd0
Install librcd0 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install librcd0 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install librcd0
How To Uninstall librcd0 on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the librcd0 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove librcd0
Uninstall librcd0 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall librcd0 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove librcd0
Remove librcd0 Configurations and Data
To remove librcd0 configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge librcd0
Remove librcd0 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove librcd0 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge librcd0
