What is librc1

librc1 is:

OpenRC is a dependency based service manager. It provides support for System V init, for booting, changing runlevels, starting and stopping services, and shutting down.

Originally written as a Gentoo project, OpenRC aims at being platform-agnostic. It works equally well on Linux, BSD and Hurd. It supports the traditional init system in Debian in addition to many alternatives. OpenRC is implemented in C in a small, simple and efficient way, making it easy to understand, extend and reuse.

This package provides the runtime library.

There are three methods to install librc1 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install librc1 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install librc1 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install librc1

Install librc1 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install librc1 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install librc1

Install librc1 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install librc1 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install librc1

How To Uninstall librc1 on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the librc1 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove librc1

Uninstall librc1 And Its Dependencies

To uninstall librc1 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove librc1

Remove librc1 Configurations and Data

To remove librc1 configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge librc1

Remove librc1 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove librc1 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge librc1
