How To Install librc-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install librc-dev on Kali Linux.
What is librc-dev
librc-dev is:
OpenRC is a dependency based service manager. It provides support for System V init, for booting, changing runlevels, starting and stopping services, and shutting down.
Originally written as a Gentoo project, OpenRC aims at being platform-agnostic. It works equally well on Linux, BSD and Hurd. It supports the traditional init system in Debian in addition to many alternatives. OpenRC is implemented in C in a small, simple and efficient way, making it easy to understand, extend and reuse.
This package provides development files for the runtime library.
There are three methods to install librc-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install librc-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install librc-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install librc-devInstall librc-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install librc-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install librc-devInstall librc-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install librc-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install librc-devHow To Uninstall librc-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the librc-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove librc-devUninstall librc-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall librc-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove librc-devRemove librc-dev Configurations and Data
To remove librc-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge librc-devRemove librc-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove librc-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
