How To Install librbd1 on AlmaLinux 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install librbd1
on AlmaLinux 8.
What is librbd1
RBD is a block device striped across multiple distributed objects in RADOS, a reliable, autonomic distributed object storage cluster developed as part of the Ceph distributed storage system. This is a shared library allowing applications to manage these block devices.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install librbd1
on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install librbd1.
Install librbd1 on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install librbd1
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install librbd1
Install librbd1 on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install librbd1
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install librbd1
How To Uninstall librbd1 on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the librbd1
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove librbd1
