How To Install libraft2 on Debian 12
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libraft2 on Debian 12.
What is libraft2
libraft2 is:
Fully asynchronous C implementation of the Raft consensus protocol.
The library has modular design: its core part implements only the core Raft algorithm logic, in a fully platform independent way. On top of that, a pluggable interface defines the I/O implementation for networking (send/receive RPC messages) and disk persistence (store log entries and snapshots).
This package contains the C library needed to run executables that use Raft Consensus protocol.
There are three methods to install libraft2 on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libraft2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libraft2 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libraft2
Install libraft2 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libraft2 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libraft2
Install libraft2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libraft2 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libraft2
How To Uninstall libraft2 on Debian 12
To uninstall only the libraft2 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libraft2
Uninstall libraft2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libraft2 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libraft2
Remove libraft2 Configurations and Data
To remove libraft2 configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libraft2
Remove libraft2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libraft2 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libraft2
