How To Install libraft-dev on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install libraft-dev on Debian 12.
What is libraft-dev
libraft-dev is:
Fully asynchronous C implementation of the Raft consensus protocol.
The library has modular design: its core part implements only the core Raft algorithm logic, in a fully platform independent way. On top of that, a pluggable interface defines the I/O implementation for networking (send/receive RPC messages) and disk persistence (store log entries and snapshots).
This package contains the development headers and library files needed to compile programs using Raft Consensus protocol.
There are three methods to install libraft-dev on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libraft-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libraft-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install libraft-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libraft-dev
How To Uninstall libraft-dev on Debian 12
To uninstall only the libraft-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libraft-dev
