How To Install libpython2-dbg on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install libpython2-dbg on Kali Linux.

What is libpython2-dbg

libpython2-dbg is:

Python2 interpreter configured with –pydebug. Dynamically loaded modules are searched in /usr/lib/python2.7/lib-dynload/debug first.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libpython2-dbg using apt by running the following command:

Install libpython2-dbg Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libpython2-dbg using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libpython2-dbg

How To Uninstall libpython2-dbg on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the libpython2-dbg package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libpython2-dbg
