How To Install libpurple-dev on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libpurple-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libpurple-dev
libpurple-dev is:
This package contains the headers and other development files not included in the main libpurple0 package. Install this if you wish to compile your own client-agnostic plugins, or would like to compile programs that use libpurple.
There are three methods to install libpurple-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libpurple-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpurple-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libpurple-devInstall libpurple-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpurple-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libpurple-devInstall libpurple-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpurple-dev using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the libpurple-dev package we can use the following command:
