How To Install libpulse0 on Kali Linux

What is libpulse0

libpulse0 is:

PulseAudio, previously known as Polypaudio, is a sound server for POSIX and WIN32 systems. It is a drop in replacement for the ESD sound server with much better latency, mixing/re-sampling quality and overall architecture.

Client libraries used by applications that access a PulseAudio sound server via PulseAudio’s native interface.

There are three methods to install libpulse0 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libpulse0 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libpulse0 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libpulse0

Install libpulse0 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libpulse0 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libpulse0

Install libpulse0 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libpulse0 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libpulse0

How To Uninstall libpulse0 on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the libpulse0 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libpulse0

To uninstall libpulse0 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpulse0

To remove libpulse0 configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libpulse0
