How To Install libpugixml-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libpugixml-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libpugixml-dev
libpugixml-dev is:
pugixml is a lightweight C++ XML processing library with XPath support. It features:
- DOM like interface with rich traversal/modification capabilities
- Extermely fast non-validating XML parser which constructs the DOM tree from an XML file/buffer.
- XPath 1.0 implementation for complex data-driven tree queries
- Full Unicode support with Unicode interface variants and automatic encoding conversions.
This package provides required development header files which allows integrating pugixml with your application.
There are three methods to install libpugixml-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libpugixml-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpugixml-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libpugixml-devInstall libpugixml-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpugixml-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libpugixml-devInstall libpugixml-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpugixml-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libpugixml-devHow To Uninstall libpugixml-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libpugixml-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libpugixml-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpugixml-devRemove libpugixml-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libpugixml-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libpugixml-devRemove libpugixml-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libpugixml-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
