How To Install libpth-dev on Kali Linux

What is libpth-dev
libpth-dev is:
Pth is a very portable POSIX/ANSI-C based library for Unix platforms which provides non-preemptive priority-based scheduling for multiple threads of execution (“multithreading”) inside server applications. All threads run in the same address space of the server application, but each thread has its own individual program-counter, run-time stack, signal mask and errno variable.
This package contains the development files.
There are three methods to install libpth-dev
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get

Install libpth-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libpth-dev
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libpth-dev

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libpth-dev
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libpth-dev
Install libpth-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libpth-dev
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libpth-dev
How To Uninstall libpth-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libpth-dev
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libpth-dev
Uninstall libpth-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libpth-dev
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpth-dev
Remove libpth-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libpth-dev
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libpth-dev
