How To Install libpth-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libpth-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libpth-dev
libpth-dev is:
Pth is a very portable POSIX/ANSI-C based library for Unix platforms which provides non-preemptive priority-based scheduling for multiple threads of execution (“multithreading”) inside server applications. All threads run in the same address space of the server application, but each thread has its own individual program-counter, run-time stack, signal mask and errno variable.
This package contains the development files.
There are three methods to install libpth-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libpth-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpth-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libpth-devInstall libpth-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpth-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libpth-devInstall libpth-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpth-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libpth-devHow To Uninstall libpth-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libpth-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libpth-devUninstall libpth-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libpth-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpth-devRemove libpth-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libpth-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libpth-devRemove libpth-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libpth-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
