How To Install libprelude-perl on Debian 10

What is libprelude-perl

The Prelude Library is a collection of generic functions providing communication between the Prelude SIEM suite components. It provides a convenient interface for sending alerts to Prelude Manager with transparent SSL, failover and replication support, asynchronous events and timer interfaces, an abstracted configuration API (hooking at the commandline, the configuration line, or wide configuration, available from the Manager), and a generic plugin API. It allows you to easily turn your favorite security program into a Prelude sensor.
This package contains the perl bindings for Prelude.
There are three methods to install libprelude-perl on Debian 10. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libprelude-perl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libprelude-perl using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libprelude-perl

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libprelude-perl using apt by running the following command:

Install libprelude-perl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libprelude-perl using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libprelude-perl
How To Uninstall libprelude-perl on Debian 10
To uninstall only the libprelude-perl package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libprelude-perl
Uninstall libprelude-perl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libprelude-perl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libprelude-perl
Remove libprelude-perl Configurations and Data
To remove libprelude-perl configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libprelude-perl
