What is libpmemobj-debug

The libpmemobj library provides a transactional object store, providing memory allocation, transactions, and general facilities for persistent memory programming. Developers new to persistent memory probably want to start with this library. This sub-package contains debug variant of the library, providing run-time assertions and trace points. The typical way to access the debug version is to set the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH to /usr/lib64/pmdk_debug.

We can use yum or dnf to install libpmemobj-debug on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libpmemobj-debug.

Install libpmemobj-debug on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install libpmemobj-debug using yum by running the following command:

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

How To Uninstall libpmemobj-debug on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the libpmemobj-debug package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove libpmemobj-debug
