How To Install libpmemblk-debug on Rocky Linux 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install libpmemblk-debug
on Rocky Linux 8.
What is libpmemblk-debug
The libpmemblk implements a pmem-resident array of blocks, all the same size, where a block is updated atomically with respect to power failure or program interruption (no torn blocks). This sub-package contains debug variant of the library, providing run-time assertions and trace points. The typical way to access the debug version is to set the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH to /usr/lib64/pmdk_debug.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install libpmemblk-debug
on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libpmemblk-debug.
Install libpmemblk-debug on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libpmemblk-debug
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libpmemblk-debug
Install libpmemblk-debug on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libpmemblk-debug
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libpmemblk-debug
How To Uninstall libpmemblk-debug on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the libpmemblk-debug
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libpmemblk-debug
