How To Install libpmem2 on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libpmem2 on Kali Linux.
What is libpmem2
libpmem2 is:
libpmem provides low level persistent memory support. In particular, support for the persistent memory instructions for flushing changes to pmem is provided.
This library is provided for software which tracks every store to pmem and needs to flush those changes to durability. Most developers will find higher level libraries like libpmemobj to be much more convenient.
There are three methods to install libpmem2 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libpmem2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpmem2 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libpmem2Install libpmem2 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpmem2 using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpmem2 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libpmem2How To Uninstall libpmem2 on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libpmem2 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libpmem2Uninstall libpmem2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libpmem2 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpmem2Remove libpmem2 Configurations and Data
To remove libpmem2 configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libpmem2Remove libpmem2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libpmem2 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
