What is libpmem1

libpmem1 is:

libpmem provides low level persistent memory support. In particular, support for the persistent memory instructions for flushing changes to pmem is provided.

This library is provided for software which tracks every store to pmem and needs to flush those changes to durability. Most developers will find higher level libraries like libpmemobj to be much more convenient.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install libpmem1 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libpmem1

How To Uninstall libpmem1 on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the libpmem1 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libpmem1

Uninstall libpmem1 And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libpmem1 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpmem1

Remove libpmem1 Configurations and Data

To remove libpmem1 configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libpmem1
