How To Install libplplot-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libplplot-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libplplot-dev
libplplot-dev is:
PLplot is relatively small, portable, freely distributable, and is rich enough to satisfy most users. It has a wide range of plot types including line (linear, log), contour, 3D, fill, and almost 1000 characters (including Greek and mathematical) in its extended font set. The package is designed to make it easy to quickly get graphical output; only a handful of function calls is typically required. For more advanced use, virtually all aspects of plotting are configurable.
This package contains all that is needed for doing development in C, C++ and Fortran with PLplot. For development in Tcl/Tk, Python and Java, install the plplot-tcl-dev, python3-plplot and libplplot-java packages, respectively. This package also includes the OCaml and Lua examples. To use one of these languages you will also need to install the libplplot-xxx package for that language.
There are three methods to install libplplot-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libplplot-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libplplot-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libplplot-devInstall libplplot-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libplplot-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libplplot-devInstall libplplot-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libplplot-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libplplot-devHow To Uninstall libplplot-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libplplot-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libplplot-devUninstall libplplot-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libplplot-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libplplot-devRemove libplplot-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libplplot-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libplplot-devRemove libplplot-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
