How To Install libpion-dev on Debian 9

on Debian 9.
What is libpion-dev
libpion-dev is:
pion is not intended to implement yet another web server, but to provide HTTP(S) functionality to new or existing C++ applications. If you’re looking for a full-featured server application, check out Apache or lighttpd. If you’re working on a Boost C++ application and would just like to use HTTP to provide a simple user interface or interact with run-time data, then pion is a clean and simple solution.
Pion Network Library uses the Boost and asio libraries for multi-threading and asynchronous I/O. This allows servers implemented using pion to handle many thousands of connections simultaneously with a single physical server.
pion also supports server-side SSL & TLS encryption when built with the OpenSSL library (which the Debian package is).
This package includes the pion development files.
There are three methods to install libpion-dev
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libpion-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libpion-dev
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libpion-dev
Install libpion-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libpion-dev
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libpion-dev
Install libpion-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libpion-dev
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libpion-dev
How To Uninstall libpion-dev on Debian 9
To uninstall only the libpion-dev
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libpion-dev
Uninstall libpion-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libpion-dev
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpion-dev
Remove libpion-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libpion-dev
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libpion-dev
Remove libpion-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libpion-dev
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libpion-dev
