What is libpicard-java

libpicard-java is:

SAM (Sequence Alignment/Map) format is a generic format for storing large nucleotide sequence alignments. This library provides classes to manipulate SAM and BAM files.

A command line wrapper for this library is provided in the picard-tools package.

There are three methods to install libpicard-java on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libpicard-java Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
