How To Install libpcre3-dev on Kali Linux

What is libpcre3-dev
libpcre3-dev is:
This is a library of functions to support regular expressions whose syntax and semantics are as close as possible to those of the Perl 5 language.
New packages should use the newer pcre2 packages, and existing packages should migrate to pcre2.
This package contains the development files, including headers, static libraries, and documentation.
There are three methods to install libpcre3-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libpcre3-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpcre3-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libpcre3-devInstall libpcre3-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpcre3-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the libpcre3-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libpcre3-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpcre3-devRemove libpcre3-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libpcre3-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libpcre3-devRemove libpcre3-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
