What is libpcre++-dev

libpcre++-dev is:

PCRE++ is a C++ wrapper-class for the library PCRE (Perl Compatible Regular Expressions).

Its class allows you to use perl alike regular expressions in your C++ applications. You can use it to search in strings, to split strings into parts using expressions or to search and replace a part of a string with another part.

There are three methods to install libpcre++-dev on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libpcre++-dev Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libpcre++-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
