How To Install libpcl-dev on Debian 10

The Point Cloud Library (PCL) is a standalone, large scale, open project for 2D/3D image and point cloud processing.
The PCL framework contains numerous state-of-the art algorithms including filtering, feature estimation, surface reconstruction, registration, model fitting and segmentation.
This package contains development files (headers and shared library symbolic link).
There are three methods to install libpcl-dev on Debian 10. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libpcl-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libpcl-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libpcl-dev

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libpcl-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libpcl-dev
Install libpcl-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libpcl-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libpcl-dev
How To Uninstall libpcl-dev on Debian 10
To uninstall only the libpcl-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libpcl-dev
Uninstall libpcl-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libpcl-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpcl-dev
Remove libpcl-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libpcl-dev configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libpcl-dev
