How To Install libpam-x2go on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libpam-x2go on Kali Linux.
What is libpam-x2go
libpam-x2go is:
Auth and session PAM module that uses SSH to authenticate against an X2Go server as the remote host and user. Local account required.
This PAM module is intended for facilitating Remote Logon into X2Go servers using LightDM’s Arctica Greeter.
There are three methods to install libpam-x2go on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libpam-x2go Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpam-x2go using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libpam-x2goInstall libpam-x2go Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpam-x2go using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libpam-x2goInstall libpam-x2go Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpam-x2go using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libpam-x2goHow To Uninstall libpam-x2go on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libpam-x2go package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libpam-x2goUninstall libpam-x2go And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libpam-x2go and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpam-x2goRemove libpam-x2go Configurations and Data
To remove libpam-x2go configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libpam-x2goRemove libpam-x2go configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libpam-x2go configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libpam-x2goDependencies
