How To Install libpam-tmpdir on Kali Linux

Many programs use $TMPDIR for storing temporary files. Not all of them are good at securing the permissions of those files. libpam-tmpdir sets $TMPDIR and $TMP for PAM sessions and sets the permissions quite tight. This helps system security by having an extra layer of security, making such symlink attacks and other /tmp based attacks harder or impossible
There are three methods to install libpam-tmpdir on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libpam-tmpdir Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpam-tmpdir using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libpam-tmpdirInstall libpam-tmpdir Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libpam-tmpdir using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libpam-tmpdirInstall libpam-tmpdir Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the libpam-tmpdir package we can use the following command:

To remove libpam-tmpdir configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
