What is libpam-mount

libpam-mount is:

This module is aimed at environments with central file servers that a user wishes to mount on login and unmount on logout, such as (semi-)diskless stations where many users can login.

The module also supports mounting local filesystems of any kind the normal mount utility supports, with extra code to make sure certain volumes are set up properly because often they need more than just a mount call, such as encrypted volumes. This includes SMB/CIFS, FUSE, dm-crypt and LUKS.

There are three methods to install libpam-mount on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

After updating apt database, We can install libpam-mount using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libpam-mount

How To Uninstall libpam-mount on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the libpam-mount package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libpam-mount

To uninstall libpam-mount and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpam-mount

Remove libpam-mount Configurations and Data

To remove libpam-mount configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libpam-mount

Remove libpam-mount configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libpam-mount configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
