Libcap implements the user-space interfaces to the POSIX 1003.1e capabilities available in Linux kernels. These capabilities are a partitioning of the all powerful root privilege into a set of distinct privileges.

This package contains the PAM module for enforcing capabilities on users and groups at PAM session start time.

There are three methods to install libpam-cap on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libpam-cap Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update
