How To Install libotf-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libotf-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libotf-dev
libotf-dev is:
The libotf library provides the following facilities:
- Read Open Type Layout Tables from OTF file. Currently these tables are supported; head, name, cmap, GDEF, GSUB, and GPOS.
- Convert a Unicode character sequence to a glyph code sequence by using the above tables.
The combination of libotf and the FreeType library (Ver.2) realizes CTL (complex text layout) by OpenType fonts.
This package contains the header and development files needed to build programs and packages using libotf.
There are three methods to install libotf-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libotf-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libotf-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libotf-devInstall libotf-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libotf-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the libotf-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libotf-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libotf-devRemove libotf-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libotf-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
