How To Install libosmocore-utils on Ubuntu 18.04

What is libosmocore-utils
libosmocore-utils is:
This package contains a program for frequency calculation for GSM called ‘osmo-arfcn’ and a program called ‘osmo-auc-gen’ that is used for testing GSM authentication.
They use the libosmocore library. The libosmocore library contain various utility functions that were originally developed as part of the OpenBSC project, but which are of a more generic nature and thus useful to (at least) other programs that are developed in the sphere of Free Software / Open Source mobile communication.
There are three methods to install libosmocore-utils on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libosmocore-utils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libosmocore-utils using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libosmocore-utils
Install libosmocore-utils Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libosmocore-utils using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libosmocore-utils
Install libosmocore-utils Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libosmocore-utils using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libosmocore-utils
How To Uninstall libosmocore-utils on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libosmocore-utils package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libosmocore-utils
Uninstall libosmocore-utils And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libosmocore-utils and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libosmocore-utils
Remove libosmocore-utils Configurations and Data
To remove libosmocore-utils configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libosmocore-utils
Remove libosmocore-utils configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libosmocore-utils configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libosmocore-utils
