How To Install libopenjfx-java on Kali Linux

What is libopenjfx-java

libopenjfx-java is:

JavaFX/OpenJFX is a set of graphics and media APIs that enables Java developers to design, create, test, debug, and deploy rich client applications that operate consistently across diverse platforms.

This package contains the Java libraries only, installing it won’t add the JavaFX classes to the default classpath automatically. The integration with the JRE is provided by the openjfx package.

There are three methods to install libopenjfx-java on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libopenjfx-java Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libopenjfx-java using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libopenjfx-java

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libopenjfx-java using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
