How To Install libolm3 on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libolm3 on Kali Linux.

What is libolm3

libolm3 is:

Olm is an implementation of the Double Ratchet cryptographic ratchet described by https://whispersystems.org/docs/specifications/doubleratchet/, written in C and C++11 and exposed as a C API.

This library also includes an implementation of the Megolm cryptographic ratchet which is intended for encrypted messaging applications where there may be a large number of recipients of each message, thus precluding the use of peer-to-peer encryption systems such as Olm.

Megolm is the end-to-end encryption system for the Matrix communications protocol.

There are three methods to install libolm3 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libolm3 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libolm3 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libolm3

Install libolm3 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libolm3 using apt by running the following command:
