How To Install libodb-qt on CentOS 7

In this tutorial we learn how to install libodb-qt on CentOS 7.
What is libodb-qt
ODB is an object-relational mapping (ORM) system for C++. It provides tools, APIs, and library support that allow you to persist C++ objects to a relational database (RDBMS) without having to deal with tables, columns, or SQL and without manually writing any of the mapping code. This package contains the Qt profile library. The Qt profile provides support for persisting Qt smart pointers, containers, and value types with the ODB system.
We can use yum or dnf to install libodb-qt on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libodb-qt.
Install libodb-qt on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libodb-qt using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libodb-qt
Install libodb-qt on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libodb-qt using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libodb-qt
How To Uninstall libodb-qt on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the libodb-qt package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libodb-qt
