How To Install libodb-boost on CentOS 7

In this tutorial we learn how to install libodb-boost on CentOS 7.
What is libodb-boost
ODB is an object-relational mapping (ORM) system for C++. It provides tools, APIs, and library support that allow you to persist C++ objects to a relational database (RDBMS) without having to deal with tables, columns, or SQL and without manually writing any of the mapping code. This package contains the Boost ODB profile library. The Boost profile provides support for persisting Boost smart pointers, containers, and value types with the ODB system.
We can use yum or dnf to install libodb-boost on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libodb-boost.
Install libodb-boost on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libodb-boost using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libodb-boost
Install libodb-boost on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libodb-boost using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libodb-boost
How To Uninstall libodb-boost on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the libodb-boost package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libodb-boost
